Part of my work is in (post)-conflicted areas around the globe. I’ve worked (and partly still am working) with marginalised communities, refugees, teachers and musicians in Cuba, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Cuba, India and the Netherlands. Most recently I supported the development of creative music projects in Cuba, together with a local violinist (Mariana Hutchinson Siemers) who is continuing the work by herself. Besides being a sounding board and mentor for her, I provide training sessions to engage local musicians in these processes and build a stronger community of artists working with music in marginalised groups of (mostly) kids or youngsters. In May 2023 I am going back to continue this work.
